婆罗洲血蟒主要分布于印尼及马来西亚。通常，它们喜欢高温且潮湿的环境，如栖息在低洼地区，雨林及大河流域的两侧。有时，也会藏身在干枯的树叶下。
血蟒属于小型蟒蛇，一般不超过一公尺。短短胖胖的身形是它们的特征。它们的颜色较深暗，常当作制成皮件的原料。
可是，这只被发现的血蟒竟在垃圾桶内产卵。无法算出它产了几粒蛋 因为雌血蟒正俯卷在它多粒的蛋上。
从网上的资料获知血蟒每次产卵约10-15枚，孵化期约二个月半至三个月。
